Girl Up

To save a woman, you must first save the girl.

And so, Girl Up was born. Every girl should realize her value. She should know that her potential has no boundaries. She should feel confident in saying no to any situation that makes her uncomfortable. She should feel good about herself and accepting of those around her. And, she should have the freedom to express her ideas, opinions, and beliefs without fear of being rejected or judged.

Girl Up hopes to plant the seed that brings girls together. From learning about cyber bullying to finding acceptance without judgment. Every girl has a story inside her: a beginning. And the words she uses, the story she tells, the way she sees herself depends upon the tools she is given.

The first ever Girl Up event is scheduled for Friday, February 24, 2012 at the Metropolis Community Center. The event is open for girls age 12 to 18 in the Massac County area. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
